Two days back i have opened a trading accoun in ZERODHA, i sent the document which is downloaded from their website http://www.zerodha.com/ and xerox copies of PAN CARD, ADDRESS PROOF ( i submitted the PASSPORT xerox), and a check with Rs.200/- in favour of ZERODHA and a cancelled check leaf and my salary slip for latest month. all the above documents are XEROX and self attested.
i courierd through FIRS FLIGHT ciurier service, they charged me Rs.60/- for courier from hyderabad to Banglore ZERODHA office.
it reached them with in 2 days and i got a call on 3rd day to confirm my mail id. the very next day i recieved my USER NAME and PASSWORD through mail. no documents will be deliverd to postal address i confirmed with ZERODHA executive Ms.SUSHMA.
previously i was using ICICIDIRECT where brokarage is very high.
i started trading with ZERODHA on 27th DEC. with FNO, the very first day i traded and received the ECN electronic contract note which is having all the details about my trading on that day. i was really very excited to see that because OF THEIR BROKARAGE. its really mind blowing. they are giving away it for 20/- per order. what a great deal.
for example: if i bought a nifty lot of 50 units for rs.93/- i can sell it for Rs.94/- also even though i will get Rs.10/- as profit where 40/- brokerage.
If i taken 2 lots of 100 units for same 93/- and i sold all 100 units for 94/- i will get Rs.60/- as profit and 40/- as brokerage.
ZERODHA comes with an innovative idea of stock broke raging firms. that is the brokerage will be per order basis not per lot basis.
so by above example i can by 1 lot or 2 lot the brokerage for buying is RS.20/- and for selling also its Rs.20/-.
their software is also very very fast in placing order and execute the orders as they are using direct NSE software which is directly connnects to NSE server where other brokers are using their server and it will connects to NSE server. means if we are putting any order it will directly ping in NSE server where in others your order first ping to brokers server and the server pings to NSE server.
they are giving two options of trading one is application based i.e NOW (LIKE ODIN but faster that ODIN). and web based is WWW.NOWONLINE.COM its also having market watch and you can execute the orders( it is just like HDFC SEC blink 60% faster than HDFC SEC BLINK). and other one CALL AND TRADE also very fast in execution. their reps are really very smart and fast.
each and every day a summary of your trades will be SMS you by ZERODHA. ECN will recieved with in 24Hrs. and their backoffice is having very great options. their back office website is http://ideal.zerodha.com/ where you can almost all the information you want about your account.
today i got a SMS from them stating NOW version has been updated and available at their website. i have downloaded but not yet installed i will get you back once i experience that difference.

Hi..great review..i am planning to open an account with zerodha for fno..would want to know if the web based terminal works in computers that have security/firewall controls..like in a corporate office..i work in a banking mnc and was wondering if it would work..

i am feeling very very comfortable with the brokerage and their customer support also, now they have developed a software which executes your order very fast as the order request will directly goes to NSE rather than going to your broker server and then forwarded to NSE. so i hope you got better idea now.

ReplyDeleteI recently started using zerodha and finding it much cheaper than my earlier broker icicidirect. Their customer service is ok, actually better than icici. My account was opened in 3 days and they gave me a demo to start with.
I went though many reviews about discount broekrs before choosing Zeroda on below page. Especially i found many interesting reviews at http://www.chittorgarh.com/
My personal suggestion is everybody should try them new type of brokers once and see the huge differance.

ReplyDeleteI did exactly the same (sending the application with all docs thru courier) this morning. I happened see this blog just now and I am happy to hear that the process is so quick. Lately I have been exploring a lot and I am almost clear with most of the Intraday related activities. I do have few doubts for which I was trying to find out an answer and the questions are -
1)Does the web based trading platform with Zerodha offer all the basic charting tools and the required indicators for Intraday?. I see lot of sites talk about Charting Platform being a separate feature from Trading Platform.
2)Also, I see a lot of sites talk about Amibroker/Nest Plus Plugin - Do we really need to subscribe for those or are they optional?.
3)Also, what about the data feeds? Should we subscribe by paying per month/Quarter/Semiannual/Annual basis?. I see a lot of references on Global Data Feeds.
4)Last but not the least, is Zerodha Trader (web based/Software based) is all that we need for Intraday Trading?
Please clarify on the above and I thank in advance for the time that someone may invest in responding back to the above.
